Sacred Temples.

A first proper environmental piece. I went to visit the Hanging Temples in Shanxi the last time I went back to China and was in complete awe of it, so a bit of that was put into this piece because we had to combine buildings with rocks or several "environment elements" for this project. With this piece I also wanted to envision what sacred places will become of in a dystopian future of sorts, as the old and sacred will eventually lose all of its meaning in the postmodern age.

I was very inspired by the illustration works of Hisashi Tenmyouya where he juxtaposed the classic Japanese painting style with urban imagery, and I wanted to do something similar where the urban will be imposed upon the classic.
